Columbia Icefield Glacier Experience

The Columbia Icefield Glacier Experience is a full day tour from Banff to the Columbia Icefield.  It reveals the most unique attraction in the Canadian Rockies. Tours depart every 15-30 minutes from the Icefield Centre on the Icefields Parkway.

Bow Falls Trail

The Bow Falls Trail is located in Banff National Park and has been featured in many classic Hollywood films. In fact, during the 1950s, Marilyn Monroe was swept over Bow Falls in a movie. Visitors are permitted to stroll along the walkway of the Bow Falls Trail directly above the falls.

Vermilion Lakes Drive

The Vermilion Lakes are a wetland area containing several shallow water bodies and is one of the most important areas in Banff National Park for waterfowl. Starting in April, bird watching enthusiests can enjoy Osprey, Bald Eagles, Tundra Swans, Mergansers, Northern Shovelers and many more species. During the summer months, a different assortment of birds can be found ranging from the American Bittern, Wood Fick, Eastern Kingbird and the Pileated Woodpecker. Many visitors enjoy a casual morning walk or a brisk canoe through the lakes to scout these birds.

Lake Minnewanka

If you are visiting Banff National Park, you must take the time to visit Lake Minnewanka. Just 15 minutes from town, Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake that is 24 km long and up to 466 ft deep. Between May and October, Minnewanka Boat Tours offers several daily 1.5 hour cruises complete with an experienced crew that provides some history about the area and it's roots. The Lake Minnewanka valley has some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in Canada.
