Maritime Museum of BC

The Maritime Museum of BC is located in a former provincial courthouse in old Victoria's Bastion Square. The 1889 building is now a National Historic Site which features the fully restored courtroom where former provincial Chief Justice Matthew Baillie Begbie - "The Hanging Judge" - once handed down his sentences.

Fisgard Lighthouse

The first permanent lighthouse on Canada's west coast, Fisgard Lighthouse was built in 1860 and to this day remains an important landmark for Canada. Now a National Historic Site of Canada, Fisgard Lighthouse offers visitors historic exhibits and a video station inside the former keeper's house.
