The York Redoubt is a 200 year old fortification that once guarded the entrance of Halifax Harbour. Built in 1793, York Redoubt was used to protect Halifax from attacks by France from the Atlantic Ocean. Today, the site is a National Historic Site of Canada and offers visitors the opportunity to explore it's history and panoramic views of Halifax Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean.
