Science North

One of Sudbury's most popular attractions, Science North is internationally renowned for it's approach to science education. A must visit for anyone living in or visiting the area, the centre offers a wide assortment of educational activities and exhibits. Visitors can take off and land in a floatplane simulator, get close to a beaver or a porcupine, build a robot in the LEGO® Mindstorms Robotics Lab, or even fly over the north in a 4D bush plane adventure film with special effects seating. 

Amethyst Mine Panorama

Discovered in 1950 as a result of road construction, the Amethyst Mine Panorama is the largest deposit of amethyst in Canada. The mine has been producing amethyst since 1960 and mining continues to this day. For visitors to the Amethyst Mine Panorama, a large digging area has been provided to the public where they are free to "pick their own" amethyst.

Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat

Located just off Highway 11 North in Cochrane, The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat is a non-profit conservation facility open to visitors 365 days a year.
