Beaver Creek is located at Kilometre 1,934 (historical mile 1202) on the historic Alaska highway very close to the Yukon/Alaska border. Beaver Creek is Canada's most western community and is also the home of the White River First Nation. In the early 1900s, Beaver Creek was established as a camp for the team surveying the Canada-Alaska border but soon shifted to a mining community in the 1940s.
