Grosse Île in an island located in the St. Lawrence River that was once a quarantine station for the Port of Québec between 1832 and 1937. Grosse Île was the primary entry point for immigrants migrating to Canada.

Currently the oldest museum in Canada, The Musée de l'Amérique francaise is located in a building that is part of the Séminaire de Québec site. The museum exhibitions are designed to showcase the lives and adventures of the French people in America and the settlement of French culture in North America.
