Byward Market

The Byward Market is a world known landmark district in the city of Ottawa. Established in 1826, the area is one of Canada's oldest and largest public markets. The area encompasses four square blocks and the district is home to specialty food shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes, galleries and boutiques.
During the day, the area is bustling with visitors shopping and dining at the markets various shops and restaurants. In the evening and throughout the night, the area becomes a mecha for Ottawa's elite. Byward Market is the top destination for club and pub goers as well as those seeking cocktail lounges and live music entertainment.
