The Canoe was a very significant method of transportation for the peoples of Canada. The Canadian Canoe Museum located in Peterborough, Ontario is dedicated to the preservation of Canada's Canoeing heritage.
A unique centre, the Canadian Canoe Museum is North America's only canoe museum. The collection currently consists of over 580 canoes and kayaks in addition to over 1,000 related artifacts.
Exhibits at the museum showcase the roles Canoes played for voyageurs during the Fur Trade era and their use by early cottagers in the 20th century. The Canadian Canoe Museum is a one-of-a-kind experience definetly worthy of a visit.
