Step back in time to the early 1900's at Casa Loma - Toronto's famous castle. Casa Loma was once the home of a Canadian financier named Sir Henry Pellatt. Casa Loma offers visitors a self-guided tour through this massive period decorated home complete with secret passages, and a beautiful 5-acre garden.

Sir Henry Pellatt had a life-long dream of creating a medieval castle in Toronto. Construction begain in 1911 and it took over 300 men nearly 3 years to complete at a cost of $3.5 million dollars - which in today's economy is near priceless.

Visitors to Casa Loma can explore many rooms including the great hall with it's 60' ceiling, the library, dining room, smoking room, billiards room and the conservatory. On the upper level are several sleeping quarters including the Windsor room where Sir Henry hoped to have the Royal family as guests.

Below the castle lies an 800ft tunnel out to the horse stables and carriage room where one can get a sense of how life must have been for Henry back in 1920.
