The only public Fluvarium in North America, the St John's Fluvarium allows visitors to peer beneath the surface of lakes, rivers, and streams. The site features nine large glass windows and is divided into three ecosystems. Visitors can learn about a variety of species of underwater animals that live in a shallow pool, a deep pool, and a riffle area.

The Fluvarium is a project of the QVRRDF, a non-profit, charitable organization, formed in 1985, to restore and enhance the area along Rennie's River and Quidi Vidi Lake, in the heart of St. John's.
