Glenbow Museum

The Glenbow Museum is located in the heart of the Calgary downtown core. The Glenbow Museum is one of Western Canada’s largest museums, with over 93,000 square feet (8,600 m²) of exhibition space. Glenbow Museum provides insight into the life in Western Canada from the late 1800s to the present day. The Museum not only houses its museum collections, but also a very extensive art collection, library, and archives.
The Museum includes a collection of gems and minerals. The Art collection focuses primarily on northwestern North America. It features prints and drawings, Western art, 19th century railway artists, Arctic art, abstraction and extensive individual collections of many important artists from Western Canada. The museum holds unpublished documents, photographs, books, pamphlets, journals, and maps relating to the history of southern Alberta.
