Hanlan's Point was once the year-round home of the Hanlan Family in the mid 1800's. During this time, the Toronto Islands began to become a popular vacation destination for Torontonians with many cottages and resorts lining the lakes shores. The area has quite the history including once being home to a baseball stadium where Babe Ruth hit his first professional homerun.

Today, Hanlan's Point offers visitors a wonderful escape from the city life even though it's located only a few kilometres from downtown Toronto. Almost 3km of pedestrian and bicycle paths are available and allow nature lovers to observe the environment and it's inhabitants. The main park offers complete facilities including washrooms, changerooms, picnic areas, fire pits, and a first aid station. In addition,

Hanlan's Point has bicycle rentals, public boat moorings, wading pools, tennis courts, softball diamonds, volleyball courts, and two supervised beaches (July & August).
