Mackenzie House is located in the heart of downtown Toronto. This Greek Revival row-house was originally purchased for William Lyon Mackenzie, the first mayor of Toronto. William Lyon Mackenzie was a newspaper editor and also the leader of the 1837 Upper Canada Rebellion. Today, the home has been converted into a museum where visitors can visit the recreated print shop and gallery.
Throughout the year, Makenzie House hosts several special exhibits including victorian Christmas traditions, Robbie Burns Day, the Annual Festival of Storytelling, and Doors Open Toronto.
