The Midnight Dome is a favorite hike for locals and visitors alike to the top of a 880m (2,911ft) hill from where a fantastic panoramic view of Dawson City and the Yukon River, the Klondike Valley and the surrounding Ogilvie Mountains can be enjoyed. In the summer visitors can witness the sun set and rise again without ever falling below the horizon. For the history buffs, many of the gold-seekers during the Klondike gold rush found their last resting-place in the cemetery on the side of the hill.
