Museum of Ontario Archaeology
The Museum of Ontario Archaeology is a very unique museum that is dedicated to the study and display of the occupation of Southwestern Ontario over the past 11,000 years. Located beside the 16th century Lawson Prehistoric Iroquoian Village, the museum offers visitors a glipse into the local history of our lands ancient inhabitants.
The history of the area is quite interesting. The museum is a rare on-going excavation spanning approximately five acres. It was occupied by an estimated 2,000 people and was selected by the Prehistoric Neutral Indians for a major village because of it's location, access to water, and abundance of wild animals, fish, and plants.
