The Muskoka Wildlife Centre offers visitors a close-up look at the wildlife we live with. Spanning over fifty acres, the centre is a mix of indoor facilities and walking trails featuing different types of wildlife. The majority of the wildlife featured is native to Ontario.
What makes the Muskoka Wildlife Centre different is that many of the animals were abandoned ex-pets or injured in the wild and are now un-releasable. The animals now live their lives in spacious natural enclosures and serve to educate the public about the importance of wildlife and natural habitat preservation.
Some of the animals that live at the centre include: Badgers, Bald Eagles, Beavers, Black Bears, a Bobcat, a Cougar, a Lynx, Moose, Red Fox, Wolves and many more.
In addition to the exhibits, the centre also offers up-close and personal demonstrations several times per day including bird of prey flight demonstrations and a howling with the wolves session.
