The Muttart Conservatory which consists of four pyramids is set in Edmonton's lush river valley and home to thousands of species of plants. The Tropical Pyramid is home to dense tropical plants typical of those found in most rain forests. The Arid Pyarmid contains plants that would normally originate from Africa, the Mediterranean and Africa and that have the ability to survive in warm dry air. The Temperate Pyramid contains plants common to more temperate climates and is environmentally controlled to allow natural cycles of growth and dormancy. Finally, the forth pyramid, the Show Pyramid contains different types of flowering plants and is changed up to six times a year. The Muttart Conservatory is open year round.
