Paletta Lakefront Park and Mansion
The Paletta Lakefront Park and Mansion is located at 4250 Lakeshore Road in Burlington Ontario and has been called the “Jewel in the Crown” of the Burlington Waterfront. Once owned by Laura Secord, the property had numerous owners until1912 when it was purchased by Cyrus Albert Birge. The mansion was built in 1931 in the avant-garde movement of housing of the 1930’s.
Visitors can stroll the landscaped estate lands before moving on to the natural and picturesque valley walls and flood plain of Shoreacres Creek. The open lawn provides a beautiful picnic spot where visitors can see sailboats on the lake, watch for the many different bird species which nest and stop over in the park and smell the aroma of the flowers in the formal garden.
Paletta Lakefront Park and Mansion also has a number of open houses throughout the year where visitors are invited to experience the history and splendour of the Mansion. For more information on when these take place, call 905-632-7809 ext. 3.
