Rideau Hall

Rideau Hall is the official home and current workplace of the Governor General of Canada - Canada's Head of State. In addition to being the primary residence of the Governor General, the residence is used throughout the year to host national gatherings, foreign dignitaries and honours ceremonies. Year round, tours of both the interior of the home as well as it's fabulous grounds are available to visitors.
During the Winter months, Rideau Hall offers visitors a public outdoor skating rink and several snow-covered paths to explore and take in the beauty of winter in the capitol city. During the Summer months, the home offers up it's breathtaking gardens and historic trees - many of which were planted by dignitaries including the Queen of England.
Visitors may have the option to view the grounds with either a knowledgeable tour guide or at their leisure using a free self-guided tour brochure make available at the enterence to the grounds.
Important Note: Rideau Hall is a working residence and official events may require unforeseen changes to your visit.
