Royal Ontario Museum - The ROM
The Royal Ontario Museum (known as The ROM) has been a landmark attraction for many years and has recently underwent a massive redevelopment - one of the world's largest museum restoration and expansion projects. Currently, the ROM is the largest museum in Canada.
The museum boasts over 45 galleries that showcase science, art, and archaeology. The ROM's collections consist of over 5 million objects and grow by about 66,000 items per year. Some of the collections on display are the Herman Herzog Levy Gallery (Asian textiles, paintings and prints), the Gallery of Korean Art and the Asian Sculpture Gallery. Visitors favourites include the Age of Dinosaurs display, the T.T. Tsui Galleries of Chinese Art, Ancient Egypt and Nubia and the Samuel European Galleries.
