The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler BC is a “green” development, built to teach guests about the two distinctly different BC First Nations cultures. The Squamish Aboriginal people’s territory extends from North Vancouver through Squamish to Whistler, and the Lil’wat Aboriginal people’s territory starts in Whistler and extends north through Pemberton to Mount Currie.
Visitors to The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre can take a guided or self guided tours through the museum, watch a 15 minute film showcasing the traditional and modern cultures, learn about Salish wool and cedar weaving, participate in storytelling and can make a craft.
