The Stephen Leacock Museum was the home of Canada's foremost humorist. Situated on the banks of Lake Couchiching in Orilla, this summer home rests on 9.5 acres of countryside. Stephen Leacock spent most of his free time in Lake Simcoe Country and in 1928 he built Leacock House. The house was a natural reflection of Leacock's success as a world renowned author.
The main floor of the home features a collection of original signed portraits that were taken of Stephen Leacock in 1941. This famous photographs were commissioned by B. K. Sandwell who was the editor of Saturday Night Magazine. On the second floor lie the Art of Writing Galleries which were added to the site in 2001.
