Tofino is a village of approx. pop.1754, located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.  Tofino is close to one of British Columbia’s most prized nature reserves, Pacific Rim National Park. Tofino is also close to a world UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Tofino attracts surfers, nature lovers, campers, whale watchers, and fishermen. Visitors to Tofino can spend the day sampling local cuisine, strolling beaches, hiking, surfing, hot springs excursions, and can take an eco-tour.  Storm watching in the winter months is very popular.

Another reason to visit Tofino is to check out the events in the different Months.  Every March, the Pacific Rim Whale Festival features the migration of thousands of grey whales.  The last weekend of April is the Tofino Shorebird Festival.  The Rip Curl Stew surfing contest held at Cox Bay happens on the May 23, 24 Weekend.  The Tofino Food and Wine Festival is the first week-end of June, featuring British Columbia wines and showcasing the creations of Tofino chefs.  Voted the most popular event by Tofino Time Magazine is the Tofino Lantern Festival at the end of August.  September brings “Art in the Gardens,” a two-day local arts and music festival.  November is the Clayoquot Oyster Festival, which host the annual Oyster Gala, an evening of local chefs competing for the favorite oyster creation.
