The Toronto Islands lie just to the south of downtown Toronto in Lake Ontario and are accessable via the Toronto Ferry Service or by private watercraft.  The Toronto Islands consist of a collection of many small islands spanning an area of about 230 hectare. In addition to being home to many year-round residents, the islands are host to several recreation facilities, parks, and the Centreville amusement park.
