Waterfront at Downtown Burlington

Located just steps away from Downtown Burlington, The Waterfront at Downtown Burlington is home to Discovery Landing, a 14,200 square foot landmark building that faces out to the lake and offers prime storm and weather watching views. Designed by Baird Sampson Neuert, it offers residents and visitors a unique place to discover, celebrate, play, and relax by our lake.
 
Discovery Landing is open daily and features The Observatory, Spencer’s on the Waterfront Restaurant, The Bite, and information about the Waterfront and Burlington. Surrounding features include the Joseph Brant Museum, the Burlington Art Centre and Tourism Burlington.
 
In addition, Discovery Landing overlooks the Rotary Centennial Pond, a 10,000 square-foot year-round water feature. In the spring, summer and fall it is a reflective pool ideal for model boating and in winter it offers free recreational ice-skating on an artificial ice surface.
 
The Burlington Waterfront also features the Dofasco Waterjet Plaza, the first of its kind in Burlington. Thirty water jets shoot up intermittently from the ground. This and the neighbouring playground provide lots of fun for visiting children!
 
The highlight of Burlington’s Waterfront is the Brant Street Pier, currently under construction. The pier will extend 132 metres over Lake Ontario and provide breathtaking views of the lake and Burlington’s shoreline. A concrete walkway will connect it to the existing promenade in the east end of the park. With its distinctive S-shape, the pier will provide day-use docking for recreational and tour boats. It will feature a lookout level above the deck and include a wind turbine to generate renewable energy for all pier and district lighting.
