West Edmonton Mall

As the largest shopping mall in North America and the fifth largest in the world, the West Edmonton Mall is an attraction on it's own right. Contained within it's massive structure (some 570,000 square metres) are a variety of tourist style attractions including:

• Galaxyland - A complete mini theme park with thrill rides including the world's largest indoor roller coaster.
• World Waterpark - The world's largest indoor waterpark complete with water slides and wave pool.
• Sea Life Caverns / Sea Lions Rock - A live Sea Lion show that takes place in the West Edmonton Mall's indoor lake.
• Ice Palace - A scaled down version of a NHL regulation sized ice hockey rink which was once used by the Edmonton Oilers for practices.
• Professor WEM's Adventure Golf - An 18-hole miniture golf course originally designed to be a miniture version of Pebble Beach.
• Ed's Recreation Centre - An entertainment complex complete with pool hall, arcade, bowling alley, and performance stage.
• Wild West Shooting Centre - An indoor shooting range.
• West Edmonton Mall Petting Zoo - Full petting zoo which is home to a variety of animals.
• West 49 Skate Park - An old cinema converted into an indoor skateboarding park.

The West Edmonton Mall is world renouned and offers some of the best tourist attractions in the Edmonton area all in a single building. In addition to the above special attractions, the mall is also home to over 800 stores, and numourous restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. The mall even supports it's own Chinatown which caters to Asian food and merchandise.
