How many days to travel from newfoundland to new brunswick?

I have never been to eastern canada and was interested in traveling from Newfoundland to New Brunswick in one week. I am manly interested in siteseeing and historic sites. Any ideas on how many days I should allot to each of the four provinces, and the best attractions to see?

Now that our children are out of the house my husband and I like to travel throughout Canada to see all the historic sites. We've driven, flown, and traveled by rail. There is so much to see!

If you're driving, it's a bit of a long trip. the ferry ride from Cape Breton (Nova Scotia) to Port-aux-Basques, Nfld. is about 6 hours, and if you're going to the city of St. John's, the provincial capital, it's another 15 hours or so of driving, crossing the entire island. I'd allot three days if you want to just drive and sleep, and maybe pull over to take some pictures. Stopping at museums and lighthouses and pubs and such will add more time. Take a week, enjoy the trip. Or fly from Moncton to Halifax to St. John's and get there in a few hours. Both are good.
