Where are some good swimming holes in Southern Ontario?

I'm looking for a place to go swimming. Anyone have good suggestions for something within a few hours of Toronto?

If you don't mind paying a few bucks, there are two terrific outdoor swimming pools made out of old stone quarries -- one is at Elora, just northwest of Guelph, and the other is at St. Mary's, between Stratford and London. Both are "bottomless", very deep holes, so you need to be a good swimmer! The Elora quarry is run by the conservation authority as a park, and the St. Mary's quarry is run as a public pool by the town.

Also , In Freelton Ontario there is Gulliver's Lake and Park. It's an old abandoned quarry that was purchased privately back in the late 70's and is a legitimate swimming spot. The water is lovely .
Directions: From Toronto , take QEW/Hwy#403 West to between Burlington/Hamilton & look for the Exit to Hwy#6 Guelph. Head North on Hwy#6 & look for Concession#7(Also known as Safari Rd...as it's ALSO the Rd. to The African Lion Safari). Turn Left onto Concession #7/Safri Rd.
Approx. 4-5 km. along, you'll see the gate & sign for Gulliver's Lake & Park.
Cost: $6 per Adult / $3 per child & $2 per car for parking.

Bring a picnic , and you'll be sure to return......a lovely place to spend a hot summer day.
