Alton Mill Arts Centre

The historic Alton Mill is in the heart of the Village of Alton, in the rolling hills of Caledon, Ontario, just forty-five minutes northwest of Toronto. With a unique blend of studios, galleries, retail shops and café in a stunning setting, the Alton Mill is a perfect escape from the city. Stop by on a day trip or spend the night next door at the award-winning Millcroft Inn & Spa, and leave inspired by art, nature and heritage!

The Alton Mill provides an inspiring setting and convivial atmosphere for many creative people working and doing business at the Alton Mill. The businesses on the main floor of the mill are open to the public during uniform operating hours, whereas the artists and other creative professionals in the upper and lower level studios have greater flexibility to keep their own schedules. However, many studios are open during business hours and all are open on special event weekends.

Smaller events and temporary exhibits occur in flexible space known as the Millrace Room that is available to rent on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The Millrace Room is on the lower level with direct access to the Waterfall Courtyard and a magnificent staircase structure cantilevered out over the Shaws Creek waterfall.

Larger outdoor events can be accommodated within the restored stone walls of the Annex building and the festival courtyard between the Annex and the Mill. In collaboration with the Peel Heritage Complex, a permanent heritage exhibit has been created in the historic Turbine Room, to celebrate the history of the Mill and the community.
