What was once King George III's personal wood lot that provided masts for the Royal Navy has since become a 40 acre urban park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Shubie Park sits between the shores of Lake Micmac and Lake Charles and contains several hiking trails, the Fairbanks Interpretive Centre and a portion of the Shubenacadie Canal from where the park got it's name. During the warmer months, many residents enjoy the beach area and the peaceful retreat provided by Shubie Park's urban forest.
